no-reply address

Post by and1m » Wed Aug 14, 2019 10:43 am

A 3rd party has just taken over a website I developed, and redesigned it but having emails sent from the site being sent from "no-reply@xxx" (where xxx is the domain name). I still have the email accounts for the site on my server.

However if you send to the no-reply address you get a bounce back that says "Server error: '554 5.7.2 email address does not receive emails - You are trying to send an email to <no-reply@xxx>, an email address that does not receive emails".

I know "no-reply" means no reply, but I know users will always notice the from address and so wanted to setup the address "just in case".

Is there a setting in mailenable to block "no-reply@???"?

Thanks

Andy

I tested using my work email today and it worked OK, so I am wondering if it is my BT setup that is blocking it as I was testing by sending from my BT email address. Therefore I assume mailenable isn't the problem.
